Outdoor Inline Speed Skating Championships,Birmingham 2010

On the 3rd & 4th July 2010 I entered the British inline speed skating championships, age group Cadet girls 13-15 year olds.

Day one
On the first day it was very hot, the first race was 200m time trials which I wasn't entirely confident as my weakness is sprinting.I lined up on the line on my own, I could start whenever I felt comfortable I tried my hardest but I got a time of 23.41 seconds which made me 6th.
The next race which began later on in the day was 3000m points, I knew i'd be better at this race because I prefer longer racing the hardest thing would be just sprinting for the points every two laps, but luckly I got every one apart from the final lap , which gave me 13 points. So I was extremely happy as I won!

Day two
On the second day the weather was alot more colder and rather windy. The first race was 500m sprints we were separtated into heats luckly I made it through the heats and qualified for the final! The final was then after a 10 minute break.I had alot of competion because the competitors in this race had beat me in the previous sprint (200m).It was a tough race but I managed to win in a time of 54 seconds.
The last race was 5000m elimination which meant I had to stay near the front of the pack to not be kicked off! This race involved using my tatics because i needed to save my energy to sprint the last few laps.I sat in third position throughout 15laps of the race,I noticed the pace was getting slower so I made an attack with just 9laps so go, the pack split, I had plently of energy and my tatics paid off as I won my a clear 100m.

By winning these three races and the London Inline Marathon earlier on in the year ,I claimed my title as National Champion this time for the 13-15 year old girls!
